History of Casino War

Casino War is to be traced back to the beginning of time, as almost all played at one time or another in their lives. The origins of the game are unknown, but really Casino War has a resemblance to the popular children’s game, war. In some form has existed for betting caveman times, and you get a higher score or number or something than the opposing person. Cave men could have animals, stones or markers used to bet with.

The original game was played with a single deck of 52 cards, though. The deck was divided into two (one for each player) and the players then rotate each card one by one and compare it to the other player. The player with the highest card is the winner and takes the card from the other player. If you have the same value card (eg 2 Kings), go to “War” as such. In the “war”, each player has 3 cards and shows the fourth one. Whichever player has the higher value card for their fourth card wins all the cards on the table (5 opposing player’s cards and their own 5 card back).

Sometime in the 1970s, a Las Vegas casino owner brought the game in the casinos. Due to its simplicity, the game grew in popularity and is now found in every casino around the world as well as on almost all online casinos. Today you will find children betting stickers, stamps, marble or even small change in the results of a card.

The game is a little more challenging, where you play today usually with six full packs of 52 cards instead of 1. The “Ace” is the highest value, although card and card suits are not important.
